Looks like GeekSugar has some photos from the DWade release party fun in Las Vegas. Several hip hop stars were there, including Will.i.am, Ciara, Luda, Kelis and DJ AM, as well as other celebrities. Yes, probably another great party that you weren’t invited to. (Don’t worry, neither were we)

While we have heard of the dreaded “Sidekick-thumb” disorder, the jury is still out on whether or not D-Wade’s excessive Sidekick usage had anything to do with the dislocation of his shoulder on Wednesday night. Ouch. We couldn’t help but notice the indirect reference to D-Wade’s Sidekick from head coach, Pat Riley:

Riley said he would talk with Wade about the decision in the next couple of days.

“I don’t have any anticipation,” Riley said Thursday night before an NBA finals rematch against Dallas. “I wrote him a letter today — FedExed it, because his mailbox was loaded on his phone.”

Hey guys, maybe it’s time to bump up the size of the mailbox?

While running around San Francisco, CA we found a new ad campaign that TMobile is launching. Looks like they’re getting back to the grassroots marketing of the Sidekick 3 with a nod to the Back-To-School season. We spoke with the new Marketing Director at the store, TJ, and he said that it was very successful as long as people weren’t hating on it and erasing it as they walked by.

Is the Sidekick 3 too expensive for you? Haven’t scored a “FREE SIDEKICK 3″ from one of the ads yet? Don’t need the fancy camera, mp3 player, web browsing, etc but just need an organizer and a way to text message one other person? Got $34.95? Go get a Slide Click!

We first heard about these from Rockstarr after she spotted them in a Limited Too store. Sounds like they’re trying to start training those Sidekick thumbs early! She made sure to point out: “Oh and NO YOU CANNOT MAKE YOUR OWN RINGERS!”

Now that we’ve all gone out and bought Sidekick 3s, many of us are left wondering what to do with the old Sidekick II. The guys over at Dreamhost decided to have a little fun with a hammer and an old Sidekick II awhile back. (Please don’t try this at home.. or work for that matter).

Anyone that’s traveled with a Sidekick II knows not to put it in the same pocket as a hotel key card. Otherwise you’ll find yourself at the front desk asking for a new one as it will wipe out the info on it. The Internet Patrol is reporting that the Sidekick 3’s magnet may be strong enough to wipe out a credit card! The magnet is really strong, but strong enough to kill a credit card? We faintly remember an episode of Mythbusters where they had a heck of a time wiping a credit card with a normal magnet. However we have heard of the Sidekick wiping out BART cards too. Who knows. Anyone willing to do some more testing?

On the health side of things, we have heard that the Sidekick 3’s magnet relieves pain, improves circulation, reduce swellings, minimize stiffnesss, and increases overall performance. Taken as a whole, these seem to be conflicting reasons as to whether or not you should carry it in your front pocket.

Ok, so maybe #8 and #9 don’t apply to us because we all know the Sidekick 3 rocks and we like to show it off to all of our friends who won’t be able to get one till Monday! But we still wanted to bring you some of the cell phone commandments: The Ten Commandments of cell phone etiquette

There is an auction up on Ebay for 1.5 unique Sidekick 2s. The seller lists all its “numerous brushes of fame” including yours truly, several hiptop.com moderators, several bands, and even the ht3 cat of fame. I can vouch that this is a working unit, as I saw it just last week when in San Francisco. Just some battery charging issues, but definitely a unique Sidekick 2! If nothing else, you’ll get a screen with a cool sticker from Danger that has the Danger girl on it.
