I had a Sidekick 2008 that worked FINE for a whole year. Then I screwed it up on my own by dropping it into water twice. I did an insurance claim, got a “new” one (re-manufactured) and I was NOT able to access my call log, the phone book was EXTREMELY slow, and when calls came in, the contact name wouldn’t show up, then it would disappear, then it would pop up correctly, then go away again, then reappear correctly–ANNOYING. So I called the insurance company and told them, they agreed to send me a NEW phone and they did, the next day. The next day was TODAY and the BRAND NEW SK2008 has the same problem. I like the phone and the features, even if the phone is considered an old one. I’m giving the insurance company one more chance. If they don’t get it right tomorrow, then I’m going to have to spend money I don’t have on an upgrade. ANYONE ELSE HAVE THE SAME ISSUE WITH THE SK 2008??

well 4 all those ppl having the space bar problem yhuu problably wasted yhur tyme getting ∀ new sidekick replacement…..umm all yhuu had to do was goto auto txt ndd uncheckk all thee boxes exept for the automatic word replacement

ok, i got my new sk 2008 this for a year now, and i dont get the OTA yet..

if your space bar doesn’t work when you turn it on. try doing a spell check. I always do the spell check and then it works perfectly fine, but I have to do it everytime I turn my phone on.

so been reading up on this and seems like i found a fix for this annoying space bar issue… well on the one i was working with, i fixed it by adding a new rule.. everytime you press spacebar on right or middle, it would just type zvm well i made a rule to make that replace with space and it works beautifully, hope this helps some of you unluck sidekick owners.. i’m happy with my HTC.. btw, this problem is also on sidekik3 and all others lol.. fix problem on sidekik slide (t-mobile)
