Sidekick 3 on the FCC!
It’s official, at least as far as the FCC is concerned. The filings for the Sidekick III showed up on the FCC’s website. We’re not sure why they didn’t document the feline behavior modification chip, but we’re sure that’s still being kept under wraps. It’s going to blow the market open for pet control like no other device we’ve seen. The previous pics were legit (to some extent) and we now have the newest pics for your viewing pleasure. Some of the rumours that are confirmed: Bluetooth (for all you lexus drivers), miniSD for expandable memory, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Many are assuming the miniSD is meant for expansion for multimedia playback, meaning video and MP3. This hasn’t been confirmed yet, so stay tuned for the exact details. At this point we can only guess at some of the software features based on the capabilities of the hardware. Still no release date though, but we assume it can’t be far off if this information is now public.

I don’t expect video playback. Part of why the Sidekick is so affordable is it doesn’t use a very expensive processor. But playing MP3s would be a welcome addition, as would EDGE and bluetooth. It’s probably too much to hope that the phone will support PlaysForSure subscription music.

Ya i got the new blackberry so i can use the blutooth in my car…. i hate it.. im returning it today and holding on to my SK 2 untill this comes out… the new blacberry screen is great.. awesome infact.. web browsing is really really fast…..
but the navigation is still lame…. just up and down. no left and right like the D pad on the SK….. im 31 and you would think that a blackberry would be the device for me.. its not!!!! i still want ringtones. games etc!

Some of those admins on hiptop.com are following the NDA, Non Disclosure Agreement, that they agreed upon when they started working for the company that creates SideKick III. NDA prohibits them from saying something specific about SideKick III specifications, its plans and the like. Danger company explictly states that they WILL not announce the release date BEFOREHAND nor will they say anything about the new product beforehand either. They’re the loyal muppets of the muppeteer and we can not blame them for it. The only thing we can do is to sit back, eat popcorn and enjoy the show of the upcoming release and to expect the unexpected. We can only estimate, analyze and discuss about WHEN it will be released even if those admin DO or NOT know the specific release date.

I like the phone, but the SK II lacked some of the most basic things every other phone out there had….like MMS, syncable with my MAC (no, other than that lame missing sync thing that only holds 350 #s), downloadable free ringtones, I HAVE to use the ones only for SK! that sucked, not important but what a racket!….MSN messanger (this is an essential business tool for many, me including), a descent calendar program (like PALMs or Blackberry…or even that $50 Nokia from Cingular).
am ranting I know, but all this cryig about useless features…how about at least getting the phone up to par with all the rest.

Well since the FCC Sidekick II cofidentiality reports become available to the public on June 6th, I think thats when they will have a release party for the Sidekick 3. When the Sidekick 2 reports was approved by the FCC in June it was launched publicly at a party in August. Then in September it was released for sale. So maybe it will be available in late June/early July. But you never know. We’ll just have to wait.

I DESPITE MeowSoft stuff. Linux is the way to go. Open Office is useful, but they’re useful ON the computer, not hiptop IMHO. As for scheduling, I use google’s new calendar.

there will be msn because of the whole thing on hiptop.com thing that they signed a contract with MSN…anyways i think MC HAMMER will the get the sidekick III first because on his sidekick blog theres a picture of him infront of the danger corporation and he posts about the sidekick 3 and this is a few days before the FCC approved and then he says hes just gunna get a special edition clear sidekick…so i thinkkk the sidekick 3 will not come out for a long time like 2007 thingy…also i just want to say everyone who told me that those pictures were fake go **** yourself becaus eyu just got owned….anywayss…i hope the data service plan isnt going to be like the MDA or that the cost in general tpo buy it wont be alot or my dad wont buy it for me ill be stuck with the sidekick2 which i say sucks…the camera is horrible….and the sidekick3’s camer will be hot because one of the paml treos has the same type of camera and its sooo clear…also i hate the color of the sidekick3 they should have just left it white….oo and the pictures are definitly actual size and its like a tiny bit smaller then the sidekick 2… umm i just hope it comes out soon..IM SOOO EXCITED THIS IS GOING TO BE A HOT PHONE..well like the features the cover case is fugly and its going to be hard for celebrities to stud there phones because its going to look crappy with the removable cover case…AHHHHHHHHHH im just sooo happy that everyone who thought it wasnt it got it shoven right down their throats where it came out of…….i just hope theres better faster internet…the camera is clear…the flash actually makes a difference…and theirs video…umm and if you where smart like i was when all the rumors where going around…called up tmobile …ask for danger’s help then ask the employee but be rly nce to them and theyll give you information…like the guy i asked was like there was a sidekick 3 made and their isnt an official date yet…meanin because they didnt know if the FCC would approve it..and FCC doesnt know the release date they just know their private files were given permission to be release june 6th pobley when the commercials and stuff come out…omg now im thinking after this phone is release how much **** is going to be spread about the sidekick 4…anyways and just a quick fact when the sidekick2 pictures where leaked…they turned out to be real..and i new these would be real because there was sooooo many pictures of it..and the road map that was leaked must be real because it had like the same picture of the sidekick3 but besides that it says a realese date of sept 6…so im thinking the first date shown april something unable to see…is the date they turned the phone in for FCC approval and this is the official date of SEPT.. i am guessing they are going to hike up the price on the unlimited aim and internet, cause i was looking at the new phones and i actually wanted the SDA phone the white looking one at tmobile and it is 30 dollars for their internet package, so i am guessing it will be the same for SKIII.
The SKIII looks alright. i wish they could of made it more stylish. it looks hardcore.

It seems like everyone and their mother wants a sidekick and yet the only place we have to talk about it, is the one post. lol Sure there are forums and such but, i think we were all pulled to this site because it was the first to announce the fcc pics. Sidekick II is still being manufactured and a some retailers (carriers) discontinued the MARKET of them. It’s possible that celebrities already got them, again I emphasize that it is POSSIBLE. Can you tell me why you think it’s on first few weeks of October? Some say May 15th, sometime on June, August, etc (all them claiming to be “offical”).
