I was quite interested in a sidekick, especially after rory gilmore used one. But the lack of video recording does bother me, I like having the option of taking out my phone and recording my friends doing something funny (which my phone currently can do). Considering the sidekick is aimed at a youngerish crown you’d think it would be a good idea. Anyway I really want a phone with a qwerty keyboard, so my question if you could answer it please.

Does anyone know of a phone that has a slide out or swivel qwerty keyboard and a good camera with video recording. So far all the phones like that are pretty much all pocket pcs and I’m only a student and don’t need all that corporate stuff. Any suggestions would be great. THANKS!

Granted personally I’d rather have a phone that multitasks beautifully and doesn’t do video than have a phone that CAN do video but can’t multitask (like the Helio Ocean). But in fact there are more and more phones that can do both for the same price or less than the Sidekick, so Danger really can’t afford to keep dragging their heels on this…

I gotta admit, I’m drooling over these new kicks, BUT spec wise it’s not even in the same galaxy with the helio ocean; multitasking or not.

Tru. Ttly agree. But the fact is, tmobile and danger r lyk, y pay the extra money 2 add new features wen we can just slim it down and ppl will buy it. But it wuld b gr8 4 a betta camera and video, even radio wuld b good as, Betta microfone.

Yer but if u look at aot of the cheap fones that do have video don’t have a lot of the features the sidekicks do. So compermise. THIS IS JUST THE SIDEKICK LX!!! Aperntly not the four. So of course it isn’t goin 2 have video. W8 4 the sidekick 4 if u want all the upgrades. This fone is just 4 the ppl hu r considering gettin a sidekick but don’t lyk the chunkyness or screen of a sidekick screen. T-mobil is just using this re-model of the fone 2 make more money. And I kno that none of my fwend use there video on there fones.

It’s true that many low-end phones can now record video, let alone texting phones and smartphones. AT&T for example currently offers FOUR phones that record video for free, with a new contract after rebates (the Nokia 6085, Pantech C150, Nokia 6126 and Sony Ericsson W300i). If the Sidekick continues to lack this feature it’s going to get a bit… embarrassing.
