If they make a new sidekick hopely it’s like the lx, but lighter. I love the mood lights. And maybe a 3 or 2m camera with flash. 3g would be a big upgrade to the sidekick. I really don’t care for touch screens they getting annoying real fast! Hope the 3g comes to Rockford, IL! Cross your fingers.

The Hiptop Web browser requests pages through a proxy running on Danger’s servers (similarly to Opera Mini and Deepfish). The proxy does most of the heavy work of resizing images, reformatting tables, and cutting out content the Hiptop browser doesn’t support, or that is switched off via user controlled selections in the menu (such as Flash animations, videos, music, etc). The browser itself supports XHTML 1.0, CSS 1 with some CSS 2, JavaScript and CSS 3 (Sidekick 3, Slide, Sidekick LX only). Sidekicks are on EDGE networks and there are no plans for upgrading Hiptop web browser to 3G since most of the hardwork is done by the host server.

I also emailed Danger to see what they have to say. Mostly it’s up to Danger if they want to follow behind T-mobile’s upgrade to the 3G network, so I say it’s possible for the LX to be on this network.

All you’re doing is switching the network in which you connect to the internet, it would be like, let me think of a good example, viewing the internet with firefox instead of IE7. or upgrading from dialup to broadband. still gets you to the same site, just faster loadtime.

there maybe a patch for a future internet web browser, and whatever is needed
