I got the LX today

I got it a couple weeks before it comes out
It seems to feel thinner, more of a box than a bulge like the sidekick 3.
The key pad goes back to the sidekick 2 days of rubber.
The mood light does not go all the way around, just at the four corners.
The big difference is the bigger, brighter, higher resolution screen.
The speaker doesn't seem as loud when playing mp3s.
The layout is slightly changed but very similar.
Some additional shortcuts added.
I dont like that on the main screen you must now use the track ball to navigate because the direction pad skips to the top of the list (download catalog), to the fav5 list or to the bottom of the list(games).
Color is express (shiny brown)

Hey das an awesome kick, I'll be gettin mine on da 25th... just a couple quick questions, wat color did u get? Does this kick have video? And will we be able to send each other those vids... is it worth the 500 dollar price tag?

The device is less than 500.00 now, from what I understand they lowered the price. This sidekick LX doesn't have support for video (yet maybe? 3GP is in the API.. So who knows). As for video recording, nope. The opperating system has had a major update, not to mention the improvments and new Yahoo! IM features. Device General manual is on hiptop3.com (but that has some features not available to T-mobile.)

The sidekick LX and sidekick slide both have MMS and SMS. (Yes, finally MultiMedia Messenging for those who dont use the Email to SMS gateways)

Alright, what do you mean when you say 3GP? the faster network? And for MM messaging, can we finally send pictures to numbers instead of emails? the sk3 is bound to only send to emails, or at least as far as i know.



and to the guy who got the LX, is there a spot on there for the wrist band like there is on the sk3?

LX does not have video. Does not play or record video

If your a hardcore kick fan its worth $500, the only difference is a bigger, brighter, beautiful screen and a slimmer sleeker feeling. Compared to the sidekick 3 it doesn't look much smaller but it feels a lot smaller and lighter. The mood lights are nice but they do not go all the way around, they are only on the 4 corners and they only light up in blue, you can not change the color like in message sentinel. If you have the money I would upgrade to the LX but its really nothing special.

It's really worth having regardless. There are alot of none cosmetic (bright screen, sleeker, lighter, etc) changes to it.

has anyone compared it's width to the width of the sidekick 2 yet? Its looks like them just flattened the sidekick 3 meaning it's thinner BUT now is wider. I am still skeptical on whether or not to buy it.

Yes you can charge it with the USB, the charger is different now. Its the same charger as the Razor (mini USB). No more circle charger.

The thing is, if your an exsisting customer, upgrade your phone if you can. mine was only 300$, ended up being 325 with tax and shit. I have no idea where the 500$ price tag thing is coming from (could someone tell me?)


And video isnt the most important thing in life! Maybe in two years or something when the come out with the SIDEKICK 5 (lol), but as it is few phone on the market take decent video, so im not tripping off that. Now if tmo would just get that fucking 3G network up and running..

And lastly, message sentinel was a program written for the sk3 operating system. Since the LX uses a new OS (4.4 i believe), program developers are apparently going to have to rewrite shit. I know the trackball changes to at least three different colors, so I can almost garuntee that there will be a new message sentinel program that changes the mood lights.. im almost 100% certain.
