Just Got a 4 gig card

Postby sammo on Sat Jan 20, 2007 3:01 pm

I just sold my 4gig iPod nano and bought a 4gig minisd card.

After I bought it I looked on the Danger boards to see that they said 4gig minisd cards aren't supported by the sidekick 3.

However, once I received the card, I put it in and the sidekick read 4gigs of storage space on the memory stick.

They are pretty expensive right now (79-100$), but it was worth selling my ipod for. Another device I don't have to carry around.

Where did you buy the original card?
I don't trust ebay because I bought a 2gb mini sd card, and it only lasted 2 months before it just died. Found out it was just an imitation under the name "Kingston".

Haha, I just ordered a 2GB Kingston card for $25. Way to scare me. Did you contact them about it for a refund or something?

Yea, the memory card I got wasn't Kingston. It didn't have a serial number. The card I got came from Hong Kong and the seller lived in Canada. The package I got said it was MicroSD. But it was a MiniSD. After my card died, I contacted seller and he hasn't responded yet. So be warned don't be too confident of memory cards that come from Asia.

Same here. I don't want to go to a retail store and pay upwards of $100 dollars for something that might not work. Besides, most stores have policies where if you buy a memory card, once it's open, you can't exchange or return it.

Here is the link from the card manufacturer:
http://sandisk.com/Products/Item(2318)-SDSDM-4096-SanDisk_miniSDHC_Card_4GB_miniSD_HighCapacity.aspx

There are some links to some retailers that sell that product

It is offical. It does work..

Someone on HT.com (hiptop.com) (volcom or stephen. lol) posted a screen shot.

Its just all if the card is real or fake, which isnt hard to tell :)

I'm going to buying one probably this weekend :)
