Gizmodo Gets Intimate With the Sidekick Slide

Looks like someone at Gizmodo got to play with a Sidekick Slide a little bit early.

They mention in the hands on…

…but having held it and played with it, I do believe it has the best build quality of any sidekick.

Also they mention that the keys on the keyboard are lined with “velvecron a fuzzyish paint for gadgets.”

And that’s pretty much it, hopefully they do a full review of it soon.

I’m saving up my money and I want to buy a sidekick, but I can’t pick between the lx or the slide. I really want a kick right now because I can’t really wait until Nov. when ever to get the slide, but I’m still wondering which kick is better?

the slide is the sidekick 3 with a new casing. it still even has the same old ugly low res screen. the LX is actually better because it is actually a whole new sidekick. and the helio ocean is better than all of the above 😀

Correction; both the LX AND the Slide are basically the sk3 with updated casing, and if you’d actually done your research, you would know that the screen on the Slide is NOT in fact the same nasty, low-res screen of the Sidekicks of old, but a truly stunning screen comparable in quality with the LX, merely smaller in size.

If you’re wanting a sidekick, I would honestly hold off until the slide so you can do a side by side…the LX is gorgeous and a delight to hold in the hand, but Motorola definitely knows how to make hardware…

…and all of my friends have Oceans and I would never, ever get one. The device is so laggy and slow, it might as well not have any of the rich features it boasts! I am currently on an iPhone myself…now there’s some worthy competition 😉

its alright but i love my lx. its a major upgrade and the slide just slides up. WOW. so fantastic. lmao. but what ever happened to its signature swivel?? that was niice. and the helio ocean is NOT better than the sidekicks! its doesnt have andy really nice features and its really ugly. i mean shaped wierd and the qwerty keyboard isnt that good. its all joined together and the buttons would make ur hands hurt for some time with how its built.

that funny cuz I’m absolutley in love with my ocean and the clear winner is it. Just the GPS ALONE has saved my life like 5 times in tight spots, i couldnt live without it. Being able to use google maps anywhere and GEOtage your photos so you know where you’ve taken them is amazing! Now when i want to remember where something is, I take a picture of it and i can always refer to the geotag to know exatly where it is! I couldnt be happier with my phone!!!!

but to each his own 😀 if you enjoy your kick better, go for it!

Personally, I’d rather get the LX. My current phone is a Motorola and I’m pretty disappointed in it tbh…
