Looking At An Android Device?

Android Shopper

I know, I know.. this post is almost blasphemous, but I thought it might be helpful for some of you out there. After all, Android is another project by the same guy that helped bring us Danger! (I’m talking about Andy Rubin) Don’t worry, I’m keeping my Sidekick LX 2009, and hiptop3.com will continue running. We ain’t going nowhere.

That said, the Sidekick Disaster of October had a lot of people start thinking about leaving the Sidekick, but the big question is and was: which device to jump to? It seems like there are three solid choices: iPhone, Blackberry, and Android. Each one is different in its own way, and none of them compare to some of the features that the Sidekick has. From my experience and talking with people it feels like the Android platform comes the closest to the Sidekick.

So I sat down and put together Android Shopper to help compare all the different Android devices on the market right now. If you’re thinking about buying an Android device but aren’t sure which one, I’d recommend checking out the comparison of Android phones. If you’ve already switched to an Android device (or tried one in the past), please leave a comment on the “More Info” page for the phone you tried telling everyone what you loved/hated about it!

BTW, anyone want to start a petition to get Android on the Sidekick platform? 🙂

New Uncensored Forum to Discuss the Sidekick

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

After hearing reports about people having posts deleted and accounts banned on the official T-Mobile Sidekick forum and on PoweredByDanger.com there was a pressing need to have a completely uncensored forum where users can discuss how this Sidekick disaster has impacted them and the experiences they’ve had with T-Mobile’s customer service reps. Enter the appropriately named Skfail.com.

We want to collect user’s experiences as well as news articles, statements from T-Mobile, etc. in one place that people can go. So head on over to the forums and speak up!

Hiptop3.com Weirdness

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I’ve been hearing some reports of people not seeing comments and/or posts. Looks like there was a bug in a version of a plugin we were using that sounds like it might be the culprit. We’ve updated the plugin, so please let us know if you continue to see any problems with the site. Stay tuned for a Sidekick LX 2009 full review. 🙂

The 50th Grammy Celebration Tour presented by the T-Mobile Sidekick LX, aka the longest concert tour name ever and probably our longest blog post title too.

Wednesday, April 2nd, 2008

So I was going to post this yesterday, but figured I’d hold off with it being April Fool’s day and all (did everyone get Rickrolled? good). Plus I was so busy pranking a coworker that I had no time! But now that it’s safe, and I have my travel info in hand, I’ll officially announce that I’m going on tour for these shows! That’s right. T-Mobile is sending me around to Chicago, New York, and Miami to go see all the performances and blog about my experience. Here’s the lineup so far:

Chicago – Cat Power, Colbie Caillat, and John Legend
New York – Missy Elliot and Busta Rhymes (yes, my jaw dropped too)
Miami – Kat DeLuna, Ozomatli, and Pitbull

I’ll be blogging about all of my adventures over on the official tour blog, and you can follow along on the journey via my Twitter feed. If anyone is in these cities, I really want to meet you guys! Go out to the T-Mobile store and get tickets, or enter in the VIP contest. If you’re going to make it to any of these shows, or have any suggestions on what to do in these cities, leave a comment and let me know! I’ll only be in town for a short time in each city, but I want to make the best of it.

The first stop is Chicago tomorrow.

We’re back!

Monday, September 11th, 2006

We are back from Burning Man and glad to be back to a location where we can get our daily “G” fix. We’re going through emails, posts, etc slowly, so bear with us if you sent something in. We also wanted to let everyone know that our Sidekick 3 themes site: sk3themes, which has been suffering because the host couldn’t keep up, will be moving to a new server and hosting company shortly. You should see those “503: Service unavailable” messages disappear by the end of the week. And with those updates, now on ot more Sidekick 3 news…
