Wondering how to create your own ringtones for your Sidekick from songs or audio clips you already have? crazyforkicks (you might remember him from his double unboxing of the Sidekick LX 2009) has a full walkthrough for you in his second volume of “kicktips”. But besides that, you could now get free ringtones on old sidekick device, but first you gotta go on a lx09 and get the ringtone to your account.. then just move your sim card back to older sidekicks, and the ringtone will be there. free
(well at least that how it worked with my sidekick lx07 cuz i switched my sim card back to use my old lx i was surprised to hear the ringtone i put on the 09 to be ringing on my 07) if that made any sense lol.

Does anybody else notice that the keyboard on the lx07 was way better than the lx09 ? Way more comfortable on the old one….is anybody having a problem where their keyboard is looking “chewy” or something, I’m scared for mine

It only worked on my lx 2007, because I first saved the ringtone to my lx 2009, then I moved my sim card to my lx 07 and was surprised to see the ringtone there..
So I guess if you know people with the 09 you could place your sim csrd there and try to get some free ringtones then put ur sim back to your sidekick :] hoped that helped.. Im not quite sure with it tho. X]

I’m not saying your a liar.
But here are 3. reasons why I find it hard to believe.
1. Ringtones are nod saved to your sim.
2. Ringtones are not backed up on the server, they are stored on the internal memory.
3. Applications, ringtones, and games cannot migrate to a different kick.
Post up a video with a ringtone saved as “I told u so crazy” playing on an 07 LX.
Then I will believe u. LOL

Ok. so i was wrong.. It only worked on the first time you switch your sim cards.. Cuz look if you’ll notice you can’t buy a song 589, and its on both of my sidekicks! Do you kind of believe me about importing the songs? Lol

Oh hey. you know what. after putting the sim back to the 09 the itoldyouso ringtone isnt there anymore EITHER. xp maybe what im saying does work.. you just need to give t-mobile timeto like save the data’s and stuff.. would other people mind trying it out too if they happen to have an 09 and other sidekicks.

worked with my wife’s slide. here’s my story, its kinda long but bare with it. I sold my 08 to buy the lx 09 and I didn’t have a phone to receive my order comformation #. so I borrowed her slide and put my sim card in it cuz she doesn’t have the data plan. everything I had on my slide was restored. so she had my ringtones I had bought. when I got my lx 09, I created my ringtones.
my wife had dropped her slide and the battery popped out, so I put in my sim card so she can get the ringtones I had bought. well when everything got restored, she got a message. guess what played, a ringtone I had created!! so I think it should work but since the battery hasn’t popped out, I haven’t bothered to try if it works numorous times. why don’t you try it on your old lx crazy? that’s if you haven’t gotten rid of em. really, take my word for it, it works.

mkay u put the sim card in the ringtones u have on your account do there get stored onto the phone or onto the other person account? and if u take out the sim card wouldnt the ringtones get wiped aswell

nahhhhh same thing happened to me! i had to go to my lx07 for a little cuz my 09 was doing the red x thing &. rebooting constantly. found out it was my memory card &. needed to reformat it. but it’s true. all the stuff i made went to my lx07

1.get higher quality make a rintone and then email it to your number at tmomail.net. ex.5555555555@tmomail.net it will come in as an mms no mater what size it is it will let you save it as a ringtone but it will give it a random number. as for the ringtones transfering yes they do i first posted that info on pbd that they were on my old lx when i put the sim card in it same with my sk3.

When trying to put the ringtones from the 09 to the 07 LX…after you put your sim card from your 09 into your 07 do you need to log into your account in order for the ringtones to be tranfered?
Also after you remove the sim from the 07 and back into the 09 will the ringtones still be available in the 07 or not?

Currently, ther is no way to delete them. There has been talk that once you fill your memory you will be prompted to delete or replace one.
Also, that crappy part about sending it via text is that you can’t name it. So you have a **** load of ringtones saved as numbers… email method is best.

If you don’t have email do what I said go on your comp goto your email and send the ringtone to yournumber@tmomail.net it will be sent to you as an mms or have a friend send it to you through bluetooth
