How To Unlock Your Sidekick
If you’ve ever tried to call T-Mobile and get your Sidekick unlocked to use on another carrier, you know they tell you that the Sidekick can’t be unlocked. Well that’s just plain false. You CAN unlock your Sidekick and call and text on other carriers. In fact I just unlocked my Sidekick LX 2009 the other day so that I could use it on whatever carrier I wanted.

I am not sure why people would pay to unlock their sidekicks to go to another carrier…Tmobile is by far the cheapest carrier for data, which you really need to get the most of this phone. I am totally not hating, but just honestly asking why you wouldn’t keep with Tmobile on this one.

Avoid it as much as possible. I’ve had it for almost a year and I’m so sick and tired of it. It’s not worth another 2 years of suffering when you can be happy with the Nexxus or just about any other android/blackberry phone.

agreed. well at least this allows you to unlock your phone and use it on another carrier, incase tmobile stops sidekick service here in america. At least you would be able to use it on naother carrier, although the data wont work since only Tmobile has access to danger/ microsoft servers

no more new Sidekicks are going to be released. Microsoft has merged all sidekick staff into their Project Pink which will debut on Verizon later this year.

my bug question on this article… will unlocking only allow TXT & Voice access but no other data?? Or will we be able to accessdata (internet, email, catalog, etc.)?? My guess is NO just TXT & Voice. So very little point in unlocking!!!

There is absolutely no point in unlocking a Sidekick. When you unlock it, you can’t use any of the data services, leaving it only able to call and text, therefor making it practically useless. If you’re going to unlock your Sidekick, you might as well just get a normal phone.

Did anyone get their sidekick data plan with a new phone with T-mobile? I’m scared of getting a new phone without my 19.99 data plan. Also which phone is better than the sidekick? Which phone would yall recommend?

Htc hd2 is arguably the best phone they got right now. Im leaving tmobile for the htc evo 4g when it comes out on sprint in june. I’ve had almost all the kicks since the sk color. I love em but there just out dated.

After unlock,how to Send or get MMS?
After unlock has this menu option,
Phone Mssaging->Multimedia Messaging>’?’ ->Settings->Accounts->’?’ ->New Account?

It is nice website. giving help for a unlock the sidekick.if you have your sidekick locked with the privacy lock and you dont know how to unlock check on you tube there are a video with the answer it works with mine. There are some people and ebay sellers out there who will offer to unlock your phone for a price, but really be careful of those because I haven’t heard of one that was verified yet to be legit.

I purchased a key code for my sidekick lx 2009 and its not working.. Please HELP!!!! everything goes smoothly untill it comes to the installing window after i put in programing mode.. the screen just frezzes. its very frustrating. It trys to install the program but never finishes.

hey!! i’ve got LX 2009 n m using it in india.. i’ve already got it unl;onlocked and can work wid any provider in india or wid any other country.. but nw danger has barred all its services and i cant access internet on it.. is their any way to resume data services somehow?? i’m ready to pay $100 if it works.. plz respond back at
