Sidekick 3 in a music video??
We got word of the following Paul Wall video and the sighting of a phone that looks like a sidekick, not quite a sidekick II, and quite possibly a sidekick III. Look for it around the 3:36 mark. We won’t pass any judgement yet. For all we know it could just be a prop phone. But we thought we’d at least present it to the masses and see what everyone thinks. So far some are saying it’s just a Mr Cartoon sidekick 2, others are saying the size of it is off.

HHMMM. this looks alot like the sidekick II but if you look closely the color is diffrent and something about the shape and the screen is shady. I havent seen any device look like that except the sidekick. I belive this is a sidekick.

They look very similiar. And what’s more Sidekick III can not be used by any customers except for beta users without FCC approval anyway.

That looks alot like the SK3, because like it was said, the shape is different as well as the color, and if you look closely, when he leans down you see that silver trim around the earpiece part of the casing. An another thing that I noticed, was how his finger was placed where the camera/mirror is on the SK3, and there was no sign of the SK2 camera, which you would most likely see.

random sidenote: has anyone else noticed that there have been random sk2 appearances on tv shows lately? the oc a couple of weeks ago, and gilmore girls last week (ok- i watch girl tv shows- but hey, i am a girl!)? why are they pushing the sk2 if the sk3 is coming out soon (or supposedly soon)? anyone have any idea?

sk2 has been on Veronica Mars since the show started (it’s in its second season now). She’s always used it as her phone.

That black guy’s name is Kat, he’s on Wild N Out and he’s real short on the show. It seems like he has a good grip around it as well for such a short guy, and it looks pretty slim. My vote is for the SK3

its a sidekick 2….while hes holding it u can tell it has bumpers….the sidekick 3 from the info that is out says there will be no bumpers…. as a side note….ive been talking to this cell phone guy i know…he has every phone u can think of not only in the us but also over seas and he was hes getting the sidekick 3 tomm friday the 21st….im gonna call him and see wats up….ill repost if he has it….

that phone appears longer & slimmer than than the SK2, and the grey coloring also appears to be off from the coloring of the limited edition Mr Cartoon ‘kick.

Hey guys, this is a little off topic but I was wondering if I could get some advice. I have the Mister Cartoon sidekick, and right now it is selling on ebay for 400 (What I paid for it). Do you think it would be a good idea to sell it on ebay, get my money back, and get a regular sidekick until the sidekick 3 comes out? Because I’m thinking that once the sidekick 3 comes out, I probably won’t be able to get anything for the Mister Cartoon one. Just wondering everyones opinion.

the ’sidekick 3′ on the developer site is actually a pic for an MDA phone released (exclusively) in europe… that’s not actually an image of the new sk3

I just saw Silent Hill last night and during the “coming attractions” previews, there was a movie called “crossover” that had a really quick scene of a kid standing with a cell and he flipped the screen up just like you would a sidekick only the thing was definitely smaller, a little longer and more round than a SKII…just giving some insight but ya never know it coulda been the SKIII, just didnt seem like a regular SKII to me..

i have the sidekcik 2 and the back of this pic does not resemble the back of my sidekick if u cann see on the sidekick 2 that back has the silver bar and the two grips on eack end and in the pic the back of the phone nothing and maybe his hands are covering the camera???

That is definitely a SK2 Mr. Cartoon edition. Look closely at the back of the screen. See the solid white bar across the top of the sticker? That’s where the serial # barcode is (look at the back of your own SK2 and you’ll see it). Judging by the other photos we’ve seen of the SK3 prototypes, the sticker is mostly black with only “Sidekick3″ in white lettering; they’ve moved all the other stuff (serial number, IMEI number, etc) to the sticker inside the battery compartment.
That, and yes, you can see the grey bumper on the top. Definitely NOT a SK3.
