Sidekick LX 2009 Backordered and Delivered Early
We’ve been hearing all sorts of stories about the delivery of pre-ordered Sidekick LXs. A large number of people jumped on the pre-order when T-Mobile put it online on April 17th with the hopes that they would get their device before the rest of the world gets it on May 13th. Some of these people are getting a nice surprise and are reporting that their devices have shown up already! Others are reporting that their order has a status of “Backordered” when they check with T-Mobile. We spoke to T-Mobile and they assured us that the pre-orders that are saying “backordered” will definitely arrive by May 12th, so don’t worry. But for those of you that got them early, enjoy the little mixup and brag to your friends while you can!

ugh im so pissed! i ordered mine the next day and when i would call in it would say its processing and then bam a week later it said back ordered. tmobile needs to update something so it doesn’t take weeks, i mean come on, victoria secrets website has a more updated alert for back orders!!!!!!

A lot of us ordered the phone on the 17th of April and were told, either by the nice phone people or the website, that we would receive our phone a day early, on the 12th. I don’t see how you can all sit there and whine about it just because a few people got theirs early. I think we should be happy for those who received theirs within a week instead of acting like jealous children!

As far as I had learned, the ones that shipped early were either an accident, or they went to a few special people for reasons not explained. Normal people like us are to receive the new Sidekick LX 2009 on by May 12th. Be excited that you’re getting the new Sidekick; don’t be pissy because someone got it for you!

Not to beat a dead horse…and your case is different seeing as you had a SKiD…but no, I can’t say I care about all those things if it’s gonna cost me $400+ after I dropped $300 (I think?) on the LX 07 and give T-Mo $75 a month for the last 4 years (and waaaaay more than that for the 3 years before I had a Sidekick unlimited plan…).
It’s unjust. A crime to loyal Sidekick users (or the chumps like myself dumb enough to sign a 2 yr contract deal).

Honestly, in my experience, the tracking only works when it arrives at your house.
No regular people are getting there phones earlier than may 12th.

I ordered mine on the 30th and I have been callin frequently to check the status and T-Mobile said its back ordered. I even tried the whole “Track By Reference” on UPS.com and nothing. They claim um still goin to get it by the 12th, but I’m kinda thinkin otherwise.

I was reading poweredbydanger and other websites regarding the SKLX09. I noticed all the people who received their orders early had ordered the Carbon. Could it be possible that there is an issue with the Orchid?
I preordered my Orchid at 2am the night the presale launched [I work nightshift and got a lovely tweet from tmonews]. I am still on backorder. I just ordered a Carbon one right now. I just want to see which comes first lol.

Man you folks are impatient. You can pre order yours which means that when the shipments come in u will be able to get ours b4 everyone else who walked in the store. They are not due to hit the store until May 13 which is when the preorders will get theirs first via ups

Remember what happened to the slide there was a recall where you could bring urs back and exchange it for the LX cuzz so many ppl were having problems with the slide cutting of the phone when it is pushed up. I called about ordering the 2009 on 4/19. They took my order and quoted $200 and a $50 upgrade rebate. I got a phone. None of the books or box said anything but SIDEKICK. I just noticed I was billed $300,and I’m past the 14 days and stuck with a 2008. And $100 mre for it.
T-Moble gave it to me good !
Cnnn’t aford to get another one on uneployment with 2 kids.

OK this was about five months ago when people were having problems with getting them on time. Most of us got ours no problem, except for the fiasco of them lying about sending them on time. So of course you would have yours by now.
