Very nice phone…as I look at the image of the apps I guess that is one thing that hasn’t changed. Glad they added or changed it so you can make your own ringtones though.
Like so far I would really have to play around with the phone 1st..this is the one I won’t pre-order but rather would like to go into a store and actually play around with it.

And that is why I wanna see the phone 1st instead of pre-ordering it…although I just got my white G1…I have always loved sidekicks..but this one has really needs to be in my hands 1st so I can examine it. LOL.

bunny, if I was you I would stay with the G1 because it has the same features as the LX09, PLUS on the G1 you can download free apps and games, and you have a touchscreen option.

how ironic!! i just got my white g1 also like about a week ago.
I love sidekicks dont get me wrong, but i just wanted something different.
but still in all, this device looks really nice. just as you said, i would aslo have to play around with this 1st, before jumping ship and even considering to buy it……but so far the hardware looks pretty sickk.

Honestly, I hate to say this but I am not THAT impressed. But I feel like I am locked into this price so I will more than likely upgrade to the new sidekick. I don’t want to pay anymore than I have to. I just wish it had more of what we REALLY wanted. I was kind of hoping for a touch screen sidekick or something. I think I might wait a couple of more months and see if those rumors were true about the “2 other” sidekicks.

I just bought 1 for myself, and the pink/purple for my wife.
i will test them out, But I’m not very impressed.
I see myself returning after 14 days.

so if u currently have a tmobile contract with another phone u cannot get the $199.99 with another 2 year contract seperately? would if i was trying to get this phone for my girl on a whole seperate contract and im already with tmobile?

Well, it sounds fantastic (Engadget says a strudy build, which is something you always have to worry about), but if I’m not eligible for the $200 upgrade, I’m going to sadly have to pass for now 🙁 $400+ is very rich for my blood.
On the bright side, the screen looks redonkulously beautiful! And, if the previous hiptop3 post is correct and we DO get grand-fathered in, this is indeed a good day!
However, as pointed out by someone else, everyone who bought the LX at launch (yeah, that’d be me too), is probably screwed for upgrading. Sigh…

The text limit is my only beef with sidekicks lol that and the note limits. Other than that they are cool phones.

I think the most addressed concern now is the text messaging issue. I hope this does get addressed soon and we find out if we will have threaded text messaging on the new sidekick.

Total garbage! comes with a ONE GB sd card when most phones comes with 4 or 8? How cheap!!! Plus with phones like android, Blackberries, and iphone, how can this compete? cant install apps freely or even ringtones. BIG disappointment but not surprised at all. This is strictly for Jr High Skoolerz and kids or have to ask mom and dad lol

It doesn’t look exactly like the 08 it looks a hell of a lot better, It doesn’t look like its cheap like the 08 either, The 08 was a waste of a sidekick becaue it had everything that the Lx had, it was actually worse, This sidekick is a huge step up from the other ones and can compete with all the other phones, Just because it doesn’t have free apps doesn’t mean its a bad phone , it isn’t trying to be the G1 and iphone , if you don’t like it then get off the site and stop posting your stupid comments and runing the phone for everyone else

Do you think the twitter and youtube app will be introduced into the catalog for current sidekick owners like the lx and 08. Seeing as how we already have the microsoft live search which was said to be available for the 09.

That’s so true it kills battery power and your gonna use the media player a lot now with the youtube application and plenty more room for recording your battery will need to be charged a lot more. So why even bother with mood lights.

they need stop make new sk every year i think that so dumb to make every year because it always same as sk 3 sk 2 i am tired of being of same it boring they need make work on sk like 4 year or 5 years it will be best than other sk and might be so different than sk lx and sk 3 and sklx 09
