Are these leaked images of the Sidekick III? Or of a prototype—old or new—of Danger’s design? Or merely a hoax? Whatever it is, assuming they’re not complete fakes, it does indeed wear a T-Mobile badge, which usually accounts for something in terms of the production cycle (unless they were just trying it on for size, we suppose). Any way you want to peg this one, we’re definitely not going to go on record as stating this is or is not Danger’s rumored Sidekick III (though we’re honestly kind of hoping it’s not).

Looks like we’ve got some grain! Grainy shots of the Sidekick 3, that is. Reader Ncmac sez “BANNED by Hiptop forums!!!” so you know we’re on to something.

I’m one of those crazy gadget freaks that actually checks out the Craigslist electronics listings every other day. Because you never know when you can get a great deal on a perfectly good device that’s maybe just a few months old (for example, the week the iPod nano was released, iPod minis were being sold left and right at incredibly affordable prices). Every once in awhile you’ll also get some random rumors on gadgets or crazy kooks ranting about crap. It’s good stuff.

Anyway, apparently there have been some rumors going around that T-Mobile could be releasing the Sidekick 3 before Christmas this year. Some people are skeptical about this, and have gone ahead and tried to debunk that rumor, saying that the rumor is probably referring to T-Mobile Europe’s MDA IV, and not the Sidekick. Well, apparently someone at T-Mobile got super-duper upset about this, and posted this wonderfully explosive rant on Craigslist (Get the full-on rampage after the jump):

I WORK FOR T-MOBILE, AND I AIN’T STUPID!! I DON’T CONFUSE OTHER NOKIAS, SEIMENS, OR ANY OTHER LOOKING PDA’S AND SIDEKICK LOOKALIKE DEVICES. GO AHEAD AND WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR. BUT LEAVE MY DAM AD ALONE BECAUSE I WORK FOR T-MOBILE AND WE GOT THE OFFICAL WORD THAT THE SIDEKICK III IS COMING OUT BEFORE X-MAS. WE DON’T KNOW HOW MUCH THE NEW SIDEKICK WILL BE OR HOW IT LOOKS LIKE, BUT IT IS COMING OUT. OKAY. Well okay then, Mr. T-Mobile Worker! We believe you! Really! So much so, we’ve posted your rum.. er.. I mean, FACTUAL INFO, on this site! Besides, you know we’re the kind to believe anything. Or post anything, as is evident with this entry.

Ok, so many people have been asking and speculating, I thought I’d cough up what I know. Keep in mind that these are only early release information and much, much more will undoubtedly be incorporated in the final version of the Sidekick III. In the meantime, information will probably be very closely guarded and I’m not sure how much more I’ll be able to divulge before I get the inevitable cease and desist letter from the powers that be. In any case, here’s what I’ve managed to uncover so far. Please keep this in confidence……….
