T-Mobile has launched its own mobile internet service, Web n walk, and has confirmed it will be introducing HSDPA – high speed mobile broadband – to its subscribers from next year.

Despite launching its internet service within days of O2’s i-mode debut, T-Mobile is opting for an open access service, rather than the walled garden approach favoured by O2 and recently ditched by 3.

Alongside a Google homepage will be the usual suspects of email and IM, with a ‘child lock’ to stop kids accessing adult content. Anyone over 18 can request the lock be removed.

To accompany Web n walk, T-Mobile will be releasing eight new handsets by Christmas including the Paris Hilton ‘hack’ phone, the Sidekick, and a 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi combo, the MDA Pro.

The MDA Pro will run on the latest Redmond OS for mobiles, Windows Mobile 5.0 and other handsets will feature an Opera browser for mobiles.

According to a T-Mobile spokesman, access speeds will be around 384Kbps.

But customers should get a boost in 2006, when T-Mobile’s group CTO Hamid Akhavan says the company will introduce HSDPA, which offers speeds of up to 1.8Mbps.

I’m one of those crazy gadget freaks that actually checks out the Craigslist electronics listings every other day. Because you never know when you can get a great deal on a perfectly good device that’s maybe just a few months old (for example, the week the iPod nano was released, iPod minis were being sold left and right at incredibly affordable prices). Every once in awhile you’ll also get some random rumors on gadgets or crazy kooks ranting about crap. It’s good stuff.

Anyway, apparently there have been some rumors going around that T-Mobile could be releasing the Sidekick 3 before Christmas this year. Some people are skeptical about this, and have gone ahead and tried to debunk that rumor, saying that the rumor is probably referring to T-Mobile Europe’s MDA IV, and not the Sidekick. Well, apparently someone at T-Mobile got super-duper upset about this, and posted this wonderfully explosive rant on Craigslist (Get the full-on rampage after the jump):

I WORK FOR T-MOBILE, AND I AIN’T STUPID!! I DON’T CONFUSE OTHER NOKIAS, SEIMENS, OR ANY OTHER LOOKING PDA’S AND SIDEKICK LOOKALIKE DEVICES. GO AHEAD AND WRITE A LETTER TO THE EDITOR. BUT LEAVE MY DAM AD ALONE BECAUSE I WORK FOR T-MOBILE AND WE GOT THE OFFICAL WORD THAT THE SIDEKICK III IS COMING OUT BEFORE X-MAS. Well okay then, Mr. T-Mobile Worker! We believe you! Really! So much so, we’ve posted your rum.. er.. I mean, FACTUAL INFO, on this site! Besides, you know we’re the kind to believe anything. Or post anything, as is evident with this entry.

RE:SIDEKICK III NOT A RUMOR [Craigslist]

Ok, so many people have been asking and speculating, I thought I’d cough up what I know. Keep in mind that these are only early release information and much, much more will undoubtedly be incorporated in the final version of the Sidekick III. In the meantime, information will probably be very closely guarded and I’m not sure how much more I’ll be able to divulge before I get the inevitable cease and desist letter from the powers that be. In any case, here’s what I’ve managed to uncover so far. Please keep this in confidence……….
