Just wondering if anyone out there actually got the $100 gift card that T-Mobile said they would be sending out to people that “have experienced a significant and permanent loss of personal content”. If you lost your data and got a $100 gift card, let us know in the comments!

    Got the $50 card today AND got all my nearly 2000 bookmarks back (and no, not even 10% are porn), lost all together just 6 ringtones, everthing else is back 100% so not bad all and all. And fyi I’m 41, not a teen, hell my kids are 21 and 22, lol!

    a lot of you don’t realize that this wasn’t tmobile’s fault, it was microsoft, so for bitching about how they won’t give you money for something that was out of their hands is retarded. if you wanna complain, bring it up with microsoft and danger. tmobile doesn’t HAVE to give out $100, and im betting that with all the complaints they’ve been getting, probably most from people who don’t even have sidekicks and are trying to scam them anyway, its kinda hard for them to rely on people just saying “I was one of the people”, and expecting to get $100.

    Exactly what I been saying for the longest.
    I rather get everything back, which is like 90% or more than a $100 dollars.

    All im missing now is my bookmarks.

    I called and got $100 applied to my bill. All together I’ve gotten:

    * The $20 data credit
    * An early 2-yr renewal (for a mytouch)
    * $15 credit toward the new data plan for 3 months
    * $100 applied directly to my bill

    I refused to take no for an answer and if I didn’t get an answer I liked, I called back later and spoke to someone else.

    There are times I REALLY miss my ‘kick (like now when the damn soft keyboard won’t keep up with me), but I do admit I like the mytouch. Besides, I can go back to the ‘kick if I want to – still have it. I’m just afraid microsoft will drool again and I’ll lose my stuff. If I do go back to the ‘kick, you can bet all my contacts will be backed up on this phone. Heck, I might still carry it around for the GPS and to watch my podcasts on.

    And, I have to admit, I’ve coveted visual voicemail since the concept was first unveiled.

    Wow, I sound like a priss.

    I want to add that I never raised my voice or sounded angry at the reps (this makes them happier to help you). I also made it clear that I was happy with T-Mobile, frustrated with microsoft and just wanted to get back to the care-free use I had with my ‘kick.

    It helps that the 2nd person I talked to about my new phone and package told me I’d be receiving the $100 (ALWAYS verify they put something they say like that in writting in the notes of your account).

    i got a $50 one in the mail to day and got the 30 dollar credit to my account. i was barely affected with the outage. like yea i couldnt use my phone for like a weekend and i was scared to death to turn my phone off or let it die, but i didnt lose any contacts, or bookmarks.

    yall should definitly call tmo

    I wasnt expecting a dime from them … I havent been able to get my calender and notes back but i dont care about that stuff.

    I would rather have the $50 …

    I can upgrade in Feb … now I need to decide to stick with my kick or jump ship… mmmhhhmmm

    I recieved a $50 gift card that I can’t even figure out how to use. I had no problem activating it but I tried to use it toward my bill online and it didn’t work, I called customer care and they said that I had to go into a store….bs. It clearly states on the back of the card that I can use the card online, in store or over the phone. These people are giving me the run around with this card and I doubt that they ever really intended on these cards working for the customers. My contract ends at the end of the month and I have just started working for Verizon, so guess where my business is going.

    Join the network with the best coverge people and the least amount of losses!!

    I still don’t have all of my contacts, photos, notes, etc. TMobile is full of sh*t.

    Honestly I don’t see what the big deal is if you can use it online or not. I just put mine on my bill when I paid it yesterday at the mall, I’m still $50 up in cash for the holiday, so is anyone who wants to be. You can then use your own credit/debit card(s) for whatever after that, and your still $50 up ether way. Any situation can be a challenge or a problem depending on how hard a** you choose to be. Unless one physically can’t leave their home, I don’t understand the problem.

    I lost over 300 bookmarks,248 contacts. And couldn’t use any of my 18 ringtones and some of the 24 apps for I do not know how long. I got a $50 credit with deducting my net. Fee wich I couldn’t use anyway.
    I was very disapointed considering I’ve had 4 diferent Sidekicks over 3yrs.

    Hahaha the outage has saved me a lot of money. Im a prepaid sidekick user. I’ve gotten 99 percent of everything back. About a week after the outage I called tmo and told them wtf is going on, they credited my account 50 bucks. Well its dec 9th now and everytime I run out of minute I just call and bitch them out about the outage andthey credit my account 10 bucks. I havnt paid tmobile a dollar since oct 9th 2009. Oh they also sent me a brand new sk08 tmobile is full of clowns

    In regards to the comment about youngsters having sidekicks…you can kill it skillet, i’m 48 years old and have had a sidekick since conception. I can use it just as well as any kid can and better, plus know the tricks. Whats funny is the look on kids faces when they see me pull it out text my ass off as if I was a kid, plus use the auto text with symbols to send letter pictures in aim. Its a mini computer.. In regards to the rebate i haven’t recieved anything no letter, no 50 bucks, no 100 bucks nothing and i was without the internet and downloads for quite awhile. Will be getting a second line as i’m not on a contract with them right now.

    They told me I was gonna get the gift card n then when I got my contacts back 3 months later they decided I wasn’t gonna get it n said my name wasn’t on the list aint that som bs
