FCC Docs for the Pure Released
Looks like the FCC docs for a “Slide Dual-band CDMA Phone with Bluetooth/WLAN” made by Sharp have shown up on the FCC site. The model number, PB20ZU, is unsuprisingly close to that of the Turtle.
Of course, nothing juicy like external shots until 180 days after the filing, which would put us out at early August. I imagine the Pink devices will be out by then, or at least for Microsoft’s sake I would hope so.
For the record, the FCC ID is APYNAR0066.

The only thing I see microsoft doing is banning all the turtles due to all the hacking cuz hardly anyone likes what’s running on it

This website should just hurry up and get changed to http://www.projectpink.com, aha.
Why keep posting about these “project pink” phones? They will NEVER compare to Sidekicks. I’m pretty sure no one cares, either.

If no one cares, then why are they reading and POSTING comments here in the first place?

While we’re talking about FCC filings, I was curious about something so I did a little digging. All the usual rumor sites are talking about the pink phones with FCC IDs:
APYNAR0066 and APYNAR0067.
Previous sidekicks have been:
APYNAR0062 – Sidekick ID
APYNAR0063 – Sidekick LX
APYNAR0064 – Sidekick 2008 (I think)
APYNAR0065 – Sidekick LX 2009
But there’s also a filing from Jan 27th of this year (with the usual nothing much showing due to short term confidentiality) for:
APYNAR0068 which seems to have a model number of STX-2. It is GSM (though it looks like it’s not T-Mobile’s 3G frequencies). Doing a quick google search showed that engadget picked it up with a list of other FCC filings on that day, but no one seems to have speculated and talked much about it.
Is this another phone from “project pink” or maybe a real sidekick sucessor or just some other phone that just coincidently is using a very similar FCC ID? Anyone have any more info about it?
