Could someone please explain to me why there will be two different kinds of Sidekick coming out in the same time? How am I supposed to know which Sidekick would be right for me?

Well. Just from a look standpoint, the LX is thinner, has a wider screen, and doesn’t have that weird color to it. Maybe it’s just me that doesn’t like it. I honestly prefer the look of the 3 over the Slide. Even the 3 has a bigger screen than the Slide.
Aside from that, i’m not sure there is much different really. =\ Wish they’d out with the specs on the LX already.

The Slide was about the same as the Sidekick 3 I think. And the LX looks to be noticeably thinner than the Slide. Maybe my eyes are messing with me though.

I mean the Sidekick Lx is something everyone been waiting for the sidekick Slide is a upgrade to the sister phone(Sidek!ck iD) the Lx is a whole new model the Lx will cost way more than the Slide that’s why T-Mobile put it on Ebay to see how much people are willing to pay this just a price testing to see what general public will do for it before it comes out cause I know it will be in the price range of $399.99 and above so Oct. 24th get ready to wait in line cause I a guessing T-Mobile will do 1.5 million units sold in the 1st month or so

OK REMEBER THOOSE REVIEWS ON THE SIDEKICK SLIDE BGR DID ON THE SLIDE? IF THE LX IS COMMING OUT FIRST HOW COULDNT THEY GET THEYRE HANDS ON ONE.. AND IN THE REVIEW OF THE SLIDE IT HAD A FRONT EARPEICE SPEAKERAND A DIFFRENT SPEAKER ON BACK WHICH MADE THE SOUND INCREDIBLY LOUD THEY SAID … DO YOU REALLY THINK JUST THE EARPICE SPEAKER ON THE LX WILL BE LOUDER THEN THE 3 CUZ IF SO ILL WAIT FOR THE SLIDE WHATS THE POINT OF PAYING CLOSE TO $400 FOR SOMETHING YOU CANT EVEN HEAR!!!

So basically T-Mobile is telling us to go buy a SideKick 3 for probably 400$ but its just slimmer and it has a biggerscreen. Or pay the same 400$ for a SideKick 3 thats louder and opens in a different way. Yeah something im really thinking about before buying it.

I agree about the SK3 MP3 sound. When ever I play my Music, my friends always tell me to turn it up. I hate telling them that it won’t go up any louder.

I don’t even know why they are evening releasing this and that Slide. What new features have they added? They’re bascially selling the same exact phone. They haven’t even upgraded the camera 1.3 MP was on the Sidekick II.
The Nokia N95 has a 5 MP camera other phones have at least a 2 MP one. There’s no way in hell I’m buying another Sidekick they’re behind the times

Unless you’re doing some serious photo editing, 1.3MP is enough. That about 1280×1024, my monitor maxes at that resolution and the phone sure doesn’t show that. Someone I know just got a blackberry and it had a 1.3MP camera, but the quality was just horrible. I’d settle for a good 1.3MP camera over a bad 3MP camera any day.
And I know people that just never got a 3 and still have the II, so there’s a bit of a market base there. I for one never had one and will be a first time buyer, I was planning on getting the 3 last month and realized it had been almost a year since release and thought there might be a newer one coming out soon so I waited, glad I did. Though I do like the look of the 3 much more than the slide.

You all act like pic msg and voice msg are something new. Wheres the video, the Google Maps, the better camera, 3G a touchscreen, Bluetooth 2.0. They recolor the phone, add Myspace Mobile and ppl act like its a MAJOR upgrade. If you pay more than $100 for this thing your a dumbass. Ive had every Sidekick and I refuse to buy another one when theres phones coming out with YouTube, faster internet, 5 mega pixel cameras and the ability to foward your videos to YouTube & Flickr.
Helio, as soon as they get wider service, is going to kick the Sidekick’s ass!

I totally agree. If the only upgrade is a bigger screen and some stuff I wont use is not worth near $300. If it can compete with other phones that price, then I will get it. I love the SK3. But its almost 2008, the SK4 needs to be able to compete with the competion.

I don’t understand why everyone is getting so uptight about this. The offial specs have not been released, so why is everyone coming to conclusions?
Although Danger powered devices don’t really see many new features, normal users don’t understand (nor sometimes see) the actual changes that have occured. Many changes were made to the Hiptop3 so that new types of applications and games could be developed for this OS platform.
I think with the Zante and LX, we will see new oppertunites for developers and Companies who write applications, not even to mention the other features danger may have up their sleeve.
Just becaue you don’t physically see a change doesn’t mean there isnt any. Many improvements are made without phsycial alterations. All we know right now are rumors, and until the Offical specs from t-mobile and Danger comes out, don’t believe 100% of what you hear.

As I look at the pictures, it looks like a sidekick ID / sidekick 3 hybrid.
The title bar is the origional blue color (as we saw before, dangers new OS 4.0 has a silver title bar with an all new, fresh looking Opperating system).
All the rumored photos are coming from the same source (as I look, all the hands look the same). This makes me thing that this one is fake, but at the same time, I do believe the devices exists.

The only reason the eBay bid got pulled is I called and showed them the eBay site a T-Mobile manager was shocked one was up and was very surprised at the price it was going for so they told me thank you. I was trying to get pricing and the myspace app will be avil. for all Sidek!ck 3 customers in October for right now it’s just for Sidek!ckiD right now

Why would they reveal unannounced information to some chump that thinks he has a right to get it before anyone else? Just because you call on the phone? It’s unannounced. You’ll hear something. 1.3 MP is enough? For what? Your monitor may max out at 1280×1024… mine maxes out as 2048×1536… and many others’ is comparable to that. Besides the fact, that is your monitor display, prints you make are drastically different. Imaging sensors on phones are getting much more powerful with the market heading into 3-7+ MP, autofocus, and Xenon flashes. The Sidekicks are infamous for having bad cameras by the way. Go on comparison websites.

In todays world though ppl want an “all in one” device. I dont wanna carry an iPod, a digital camera, and a phone I want a phone that has all of those in one among other things. The Sidekick is good for that but what Im saying is, for those of us who’ve been buying these things for years now, these tiny little upgrades to not justify charging $300. Only reason they dont upgrade these things more are because dummies like the ones drooling over the LX & the Slide will pay $300 everytime.
They could sell a “scratch n sniff” Sidekick and you all would pay $300 for it. YES it does need a good camera whats the purpose of having a camera on a device and it not be worth using? If so knock $100 off of the device & leave the damn camera off. I dont consider phones “hot” either. I consider women hot like Halle Berry or Eva Mandez. Just about every phone now has the internet and if you have AT&T or T Mobile all of them have IM just about or you can buy software that has all the IM clients on it.
That was stupid saying, “the LX has internet, email & IM.” So does the damn Sidekick II & III why dont you just keep those and save $300?

Ppl hu buy this fone don’t want it coz of the camera. They want it 4 the qwerky keypad and multipal ways of comuniaction. Its the communication fone. It wuld b so awsum 4 it 2 have video. I wuld luv it 2. but it doesn’t need it. Y wuld they upgrade it wen they kno ppl r gonna keep buyin it wen they don’t upgrade it. All they hav 2 do is re model it.

i agree . really, can we please get some video capabilities? i would never upgrade to one of these . the slide is ugly and they are going to price this expensivly. i’d ratehr just buy an iphone and unlock it for tmobile.

Exactly. Why wouldn’t ppl pay more for a camera? Why have the ability to upload pictures to sites or send them as a MMM when the quality is horrible? 2 MP or higher is a standard and if it can’t take videos at least play them back. I wish Helio would make the next Sidekick

Maybe its just because Im getting older (Im only 22 by the way) most of my peers have Blackberrys, Windows Mobile Devices like HTC phones & Treos. a few have Sidekicks but they have one of the other phones above too. My friend thats 28 has a Sprint Mogul (2 mp cam, video, touchscreen, 3G internet, MP3 playback, push email suuport, etc) and says he refuses to buy another Sidekick just for AOL/YAHOO/MSN (nobody uses MSN anyways).
Many phones today have those QWERTY keyboards especially HTC phones
