Sidekick 3 Pricing
We’ve been getting a lot of questions from people about the cost of the Sidekick 3. To answer a large number of these, here it is in plain english:
$299 for a 2-year contract
$349 for a 1-year contract
$399 for T-Mobile To Go (prepaid)
You will get to keep your old sidekick
There is currently no word on any sort of trade-in program like the Sidekick 2 had. We’ll let you know when we hear something.

U can normally upgrade 2 months before you’re contract is up. Unless they got some suprises instore. You’ll have to pay full price

Look…you can upgrade at any time, you just won’t get the full discounted price if ur contract isn’t up…this goes with ne phone at any time.
And btw I think this pricing is bs…from the tmo reps that I’ve talked to they are saying that this is too high of pricing…

i would sell this s.h.i.t in a heart beat but nobody going to buy it from me….funny my friend was using his the other day at work(tmobile)and some guy offered him 200 bucks in cash straight up and he tookit with no problem lmao….but it was still brand new so is w.e its still good. i dont even think he cared about getting the charger from him lol

i agree with Smubound the price is too much ( if those prices are true)… i mean if it had a video player then it would be worth that price and maybe bluetooth 2.0 …..but i ain’t complaining i am a sidekick fan ever since i got mines march and i love everything about it i just wish they 3 rd party programs to work wit it and more limits mayb wifi… a sidekick program to put ringers u know etc

guys…. there probably IS going to be a trade-in program. if u go to http://www.sidekickiii.com click on special hookup for T-Mobile customers, it says that starting the 28th, you can go online and “Upgrade” your sidekick. Sounds to me like a trade-in kinda thing. and also if u read the entries on this blog, it says that the price for the trade-in program is yet to be announced.

I really hope that pricing isn’t true, without a trade in program tmo is really slapping loyal customers in the face. Of course I’m getting one but from a marketing standpoint this is terrible. Hyping it up to the general public&(non sidekick users) and overlooking current customer is just bad pr. and that pricing is messed up, according to that specialhookup for customers/upgrade site I can get an MDA for $299 w a 2yr contract – SAME PRICE – I don’t think I’d get an MDA but feature wise compared to the sk3, the pricing seems off.

There should be a rule that if you are 16 or younger you arent allowed to post because damn some of you are either that or retarded. The phone is hugely anticipated by many people and they know its going to be a hot item. The price they are asking isnt that much for something thats so anticipated.
If you dont know if you are eligible for an upgrade then go ask your mommy to log you in to my.tmobile.com and check to see what kind of discount you are eligible for.
and to everyone else who says they are taking advantage, wouldnt you if you were running a business? theres the keyword guys, BUSINESS. If you cant afford it then wait a few more months and they will go down in price.

Did most of you guys not read the post you’re commenting on? It tells the pricing of the phone with a one year contract, a two year contract, and no contract. Since it’s cheaper with an extended contract that’s obviously some kind of discount. That upgrade, with an extended contract, is taking place of the trade-in program T-Mobile had for the Sidekick 2. So basically, I’m just rephrasing what the whole post was about just because you guys didn’t read it, or couldn’t comprehend it, even thought it says so itself that, “We’ve been getting a lot of questions from people about the cost of the Sidekick 3. Maybe if we all boycotted the Sidekick 3 for a couple weeks or even months, we could get them to lower the price to something more reasonable. But that’s hella unrealistic to think even just a majority of us will actually participate in the boycott. Too bad not everyone realizes that, as consumers, we can control the market. What I meant was you pay $60 to extend your contract for two years, and get a $100 rebate for your phone. You end up only saving $40, but you’re stuck with T-Mobile for another two years.

I think he meant if you’re not qualified for a two year upgrade, you can just pay $60 to become eligible for that upgrade, but you still have to pay for the phone itself.
But since you’re already qualified for the maximum discount you won’t have to pay $60 extra, but you still have to pay for the phone itself.

i read all the posts lolzz they r cool well i had mr cartoon version and somebody bought it from me on ebay for 300 dollars so it was cool now i cna get a sk3 but my question is that it does have a memory card in it but how expandable it is and what kind of memory card sidekick will be using because i dont think 64 mb is good enough specially if ur willing to save mp3 songs and pics on it if u guys have any info abt that tell me

Qut complaining about the price! This is what’s called Capitalism. It’s pretty much what the United States’ economy is based on. Complaining wont magically change the price. Is it too much? sure, maybe it is.
But I can almost guarantee you if you care enough to come on this site, post comments and argue then you’re interested enough to still buy it.
And in the end, T-Mobile has done their job. They’re making money because you’re willing to pay nearly any price for this new phone they’ve got. Viola. :]
