Sidekick LX 2009
We got the above image in our inbox. The reader sending it in danielle says she was taking a survey about smart phones on QuizPoints and was presented with this one. Here are the specs it lists in the photo:

Everything seems to match up with what a Sidekick LX 2009 would have. It mentions 3G, which is pretty much a given at this point. The introduction of Microsoft Live Search and maps makes a lot of sense since Microsoft now owns Danger. The addition of GPS (finally!) is also a nice complement to the maps and helps the Sidekick compete a little bit with the iPhone and other location-enabled devices. But I’m sure the thing that everyone is freaking out over now is the mention of YouTube mobile access. It’s probably the #1 request for the Sidekick by the majority of the users. It doesn’t seem that out of reach since the Sidekick can play video already, it just needs a way to get it from YouTube. None of the apps are groundbreaking, but they’re things that a lot of us would agree it would be nice to have on our Sidekick.
The hardware looks about right too. A 3.2MP camera isn’t the 5mp camera we hoped for, but it is a god bump up from the 2MP camera in the Sidekick 2008 (not to mention the 1.3MP in the LX). The screen is higher resolution (too early to start working on those new themes?) and of course the familiar keyboard is still there.
Is this the Sidekick Blade that we’ve been hearing whispers about? Hard to tell. We know that “Blade” is a codename and that internally (in software) it’s know as the “m3“. The “m2” was the Sidekick 3, so one would guess the “m3” would correlate to the elusive Sidekick 4 and a “large” upgrade in device. (FWIW, the Sidekick LX was the “m2-hd”) Could MSDanger be working on two devices? It’s very possible, but we don’t have anything to back this up or refute it yet.
So is this for real? We think so. At least we think it’s specs drawn up by someone official that is testing the water with consumers to see what they think. Whether it’s what we actually see in a device in the future, I’m not 100% sure. I think it definitely sounds like the next revision of the Sidekick LX. It’s not too ambitious, but does add a few of the most requested features. Seems to be the way that T-Mobile/MSDanger like to do things with the Sidekick.

Ok I cud have sworn that it was 250 for ppl who wants to upgrade and 300 for ppl who is getting a 2 yr contract and 450 for people who wants it prepaid or to just buy it alone… well I think this is a good sidekick… I have the lx 07′ and love it… I hate the 08 I was going to get it but it looks so cheap and it reminds me of the slide which I had for 1 day and took back… my mom was going to buy me the new lx but I decieded to wait because im turning 18 on june 14 so I want to put it in my name… everything seems to be cool, the only thing I don’t care for is the moodlights strip… they shud have left it the way it was b4… but why are u all sayin you was touch screen.. Nooo that’s not for a kick… and twitter and myspace and facebook apps are great now u don’t have to pay… its good that u can make your own ringtones now as well.. Just google it or go on youtube… a few people have posted directions about it… only thing im waiting for is for someone to tell me step by step how I can make my own themes… I love nicki minaj… she is like my wife I swear she is… she just a bad bi*ch.. Lol… I want her on my theme with songs from her beam me up scotty album… anyway tell me what u guys like about your kicks and what you don’t like…

Never had a SideKick in my life and when I saw other people with them I thought ok another gadget that lets you contact someone while listening to music. When I saw the Lx2009 I didn’t even know what it was until I went to see it in stores and when that happened I fell in love right away…. It’s like a Mini Pc! It’s amazing just checking the phone out itself! I got mines<<< better go get yours! And Get it Just Cause Not for a Reason!!!!!!!!!!! 1 LIFE! 1 LX2009!

I think im starting to fall in love with the lx…
I absolutely L O V E the fact that u can add your own ringtones now ! [ wat I been waiting for !! ] my freakin prayers have been answered !
one thing I may not like is the size…I like my 08 cause it`s small…lx’s are so W I D E…also the option to change covers n shit is what got me interested in the first place.
I went to go see it in the store and im stuck on if I wanna stay 08 or upgrade…[ I was actually thinkin about getting a new phone] but I love sidekicks I can’t find anything else to satisfy me..
for one…sidekicks have the best keyboard hands down ! aim is a great feature as well and the fact sidekick`s know some karate add spice…its not boring like a slide or open or flip…swivel all day baybee !! [im actually writing this on my 08 now hehe]

I dont know! It all sounds so good! So I bought one! I like the fact that this SK doesn’t have the touch screen! I can officially say that I own every sk/hiptop phone now! I work for Versace as a Fashion Designer and I am actually talking to the creators of the SK to actually create my very own line of SK’S! I got some great ideas! To all my sk lovers the new sk lx 09 is going for 250.00 in stores only if you sign up with a contract but if you just want the phone with a prepaid plan (that you can switch over later) it’s 350.00!!!!! It’s a really great phone guys! So far I can make my own ringtones, Make my own themes and enjoy the internet right in the palm of my hands! Im so in love with my new lx 09! You can add apps, music videos, mp3/mp4 etc files, you can even go on youtube to watch the lastest tricks for the new lx09! It’s probably the same tricks for the lx 08 but who cares? there’s no touch screen but hey if you want one just get the G1! That’s my next purchase…… I think I can finally say that I’m a sk junkie and this is my first one ever!!!!!!!!!!! Feel free to comment any questions or info about the lx09!!!!!!! Toodles!
