We were surprised by T-Mobile bringing back the Sidekick iD last month. Just in time for Christmas, they’ve brought back another old friend, the Sidekick Slide
. T-Mobile is offering the Slide again for $99, $200 off the retail price. It’s the same price as the newer Sidekick 2008
, so this is probably only interesting to people who like the form factor of the Sidekick Slide. So if you’re a fan of a smaller more compact Sidekick that doesn’t have the characteristic flip, now is your chance to grab one! With these recent “returns from the dead”, it makes us wonder when we’re going to see the Sidekick 3 available again!

the sidekick 3 was the best sidekick. The lx is good but I loved the three. If they had mms on the three i dont think i would have upgraded to the lx. The three in my eyes was the best sidekick. My lx often has problems. My three never did.

the slide sucks period it was a waste of time, you think the slide could ever compete with the Quickfire? Behold? G1? Leica? I dont think so
IMHO the slide is for kids, thats why its small and compact
and also the slide will never receive the video ota because you will need a magnifying glass to watch video on the slides little 2″ screen

Worst sidekick ever!!! Motorola should have never touched the sidekick. sidekicks are dead IMO until they really update it and don’t have the OS so damn locked down until then the G1 will reign surpreme!! Yes I’m loving my g1 😉

Well i had the LX & it qot damaqed then
I qot a 3. It was a MAJOR down qrade,
It was obviously biqqer/heavier, screen was smaller, my 3 freezes all the time & my LX never did. The internet was a lil slower & mah scroll ball qets stuck & doesnt wrk sometime. I reqret qettinq the 3, but im upqradinq to the 08 for Christmas =]

My contract is up sometime in July of 09, I have a Sidekick 3 and don’t plan on getting another Sidekick until Microsoft/Danger does a major overhaul on the OS as well as the hardware. I like my SK, but they have definitely lost their edge. SK’s are known to be teenie-bopper phones now. Half the people that commented on this post are in that demographic. For about the same price there is no reason to get the LX over the G1 or Behold. As for me I’m hoping the G2 will be out by late summer of next year 🙂

HaHa The Sidk!ck Slide Sucked Fat A $ $ BallZ I don’t see y they invented it I had 1 4 about 2 weekz I went to go buy an lx but they were ouht so I got a slide till they finnaly had the lx now I got the tony hawk lx ihtz hella sick notta cheap peace of $hiit! Like the Slide! Ihts 4 fucken 12 year oldz who want iht 4 there birthday to show off aht skool er suhmthen.
Hopefully tmobile dosent even try to bring the 3 back ihts even worse!

I love all HIPTOPS im from australia, I really want them to bring likee alllll the sidekicks ova here and make them into hiptops, I have a slide…and I love it, but I really want the new 08…it looks sooooo kool, but by the time my contract runs out, therell be a new one out and I can get that one….and I wish they would just hurry up and bring the s!dek!cks ova to australia quickly cuz we only have the slide….they don’t sell the two or three anymore, just the slide so I had no other choice haha

Yes at tmobile they have this little table with all the sidekicks there selling at the moment there’s the 08 tonyhawk,and the traditional blue and brown lx.

I have the sildekick silde andits wack..I can’t even send picture messages to people cause I don’t know what the hell is the apn…and aim when you put the away on you can’t still aim people wow you on away…..I just got a updata on this wack phone…. I have the sidekick slide. It is by far the crapiest phone I have ever put into my palms. I agree that its for litle kids. Im 14. Lol but anyways about this phone. Everytime people ask to see it right away they say “this is all it does? It doesn’t flip up or anything?” or “this is a fake sidekick!” lol and I agree with them. It feels like this phone is lacking the famous sidekick feel. It just feels like a phone. Nothing more. And its just garbage. It gives off false signal signs. It says G7 but I can’t even send a text. And no video. VERY BAD CAMERA. VERRY BAD! And no pic messeges. Small screen. The speaker looks to be very loud. But its not. Who ever is looking to buy this phone don’t do it. Be smart. Get the lx or 08
