Sidekick Users to get MyFaves Interface for Free
Want to use the MyFaves interface on your Sidekick to make it quicker and easier to get in touch with your top 5 friends? Well, rumor has it that T-Mobile will be releasing the MyFaves interface to all Sidekick users for free come March 10th. Remember though, that this is just the MyFaves interface, it’s NOT the MyFaves rate plan where you get unlimited calls to your “Faves”. You’ll be charged the same rates for contacting these friends if you don’t sign up for MyFaves. For those of you that don’t know what the MyFaves interface has:
“The Faves home screen provides customers the advantages of a simple and convenient one touch connection for calling, texting, or sending photos to the people they (you) care about most.”

[Setnakt says] No it only has the MyFavs interface/application/whatever added to the device currently if you have the MyFaves rate plan on your account. I know this because there is no MyFaves interface on my LX. But yea I was thinking also, speed dial already basicly does this. I hope this doesn’t slow down the OS. More stuff always does, some at least.

To David, you need the MyFaves plan to see the interface, otherwise you’ll just have to wait until March 10th to see it if you don’t want to sign up for the MyFaves plan. I find this very useful since I have the Sidekick 3 and sometimes I don’t like typing out a friends name before I make the call.
To FaameFilms: No the Sidekick 2 won’t get it since the Sidekick 2 wasn’t MyFaves capable, the MyFaves application only appeared on the Sidekick 3, iD, LX/Slide and 08. But you can setup speed dial on your sidekick 2 and use that instead although it’s just different from the MyFaves application itself.

Honestly I’m satisfied with my SK3. Although my contract is expiring in 4 months, and I don’t think I’ll be getting another SK. Blackberry or something running Android here I come!

Just called T-Mobile. The rep said they did in-fact start rolling it out yesterday, and it will of course take some time to get to all Sidekick users. Be patient!

That’s great news to hear but they should make the update so we Sidekick 3 users get MMS since the Sidekick 3 is capable of having it and so is the Sidekick 2 but no T-Mobile USA decided to take that out on their versions of the 2 and 3 and iD and put it on the newer ones and they’re expensive to get too. But anyway thank you for informing us all I’m sure it would be alot more useful to us than using the speed dial for those of us who don’t have MyFaves on their accounts.

Your right, but the only reason they don’t add it is so you’ll purchase a new Sidekick. I hated getting URLs about new picture messages, but now I have gone through every version sense(Slide, LX, now 08) and have been pleased with MMS. It’s worth the upgrade, especially for the screen quality.

Hey everyone who doesn’t have the MyFaves plan, do what Anonymous said, it actually WORKS! It took me about 10 minutes for it to pop up on my sidekick 3, and it’s a nice add on now I can say good-buy to speed dial I find this easier to use.
When you add it you’ll get a Flash Text Message on your screen letting you know that it’s there, it may not show up right away and if it doesn’t give it time.

i have flexpay and see nothing about myfaves for free, when i click change plan i only have three options, pay by teh day, pay as you go, and sidekick..nothing about myfaves interference free…any help?

To jose: I don’t think this applies to Flexpay users, although it doesn’t say anything about it not being available to Flexpay. I could be wrong though.

To lando: This is for all Sidekick users from the 3 and higher, anyone who has a postpaid account but doesn’t have a MyFaves account can have this free add on for their sidekick, but remember, this is just the MyFaves interface not the rate plan.

I helped Lando with it they changed the way the site looks to get it so to anyone who can’t get it the way Anonymous has instructed I suggest you call T-Mobile and try getting it that way, you don’t have to have the rate plan just ask for the MyFaves interface for free.
