T-Mobile UK Launches Sidekick Slide
Motorola and T-Mobile announced last night a new Sidekick, the Slide, which is the thinnest and lightest ever. It’s got the well-known slide out QWERTY keyboard, a trackball for easy navigating, an MP3 player and a 1.3 megapixel camera (yeah, we weren’t impressed with that either). You can use the Push email or the Yahoo IM to keep in touch on the move, surf the interweb and thanks to T-Mobile’s Web’n’Walk packages it won’t cost you the earth.
Shiny Shiny also reports it will be in stores on November 9th. No prices are listed however.

He said he loves the LX but he will get the Slide when it comes out on November 9th because, like women, just one SK isn’t enough. (Although November 9th is the release date in the UK! – that’s England people)

…i dont think it is. otherwise they wouldnt be making a sidekick slide so shortly after. i think that the 4 will come out next year sumtime. the lx and the slide are probably just to hold people over, keep them interested, and make them spend more money. otherwise they would have just called these two the 4 and 5. they’re just like more expensive ids

Unfortunately, this COULD mean the end to the numeric system of the Sidekicks. Instead of “4’s” and “5’s” we could be getting nammed SK’s like the LX or Slide. Either way, the LX is certainly not a “more expenside id”. The ID’s are like SK 1.5’s and marketed for pre-teens. I was ambivalent about the LX as well. But now that I have it, I love it, and it is very clear that it is truely a full fledged evolution in the SK series. If anything the LX is the SK4. The Slide is certainly not the 5 since it runs OS4.4. Its basically an LX in a different case made by Motorola. Personally, its not a Sidekick if it doesn’t flip. I don’t know WHAT possesed them to do this and who will buy it. Only time will tell how everything plays out.

I totally agree with you and that’s what I’ve been thinking all along and the slide is running on a 4.0 os not 4.4. The slide in my opinion is like the sk lx’s I.d. With a totally different shape and sliding concept, maybe danger is trying to attract different audiences so for those who like the swivel screen they can buy an lx and for those who prefer to slide up they can get a sk slide. But back to the point the lx is the sk4, jus like the sk2’s 2.4 os and sk3’s 3.4 os the lx is a 4.4 which basically makes it a sk4, and the next sk that will come out a few years from now will probably have a 5.0 or something making it a sk5.

You can buy the lx off of places like ebay
and you just go on the tmobile network or any other as far as I’m aware.
I’m gettin the sidekick lx instead of my upgrade.
I can’t wait it’s going to be amazing!!!

I really wanted one too, and i found it on ebay, you can’t get the lx 2009 but you can get the earlier lx, iv ordered mine and its coming in 7-14 days unlocked so i can use my uk sim card 🙂
