Catalog is Back and Sidekicks For Sale On T-Mobile Again
Good news! As we posted on our Twitter account (@hiptop3), the Download Catalog came back online this weekend. There was much rejoicing.
Also, we heard from T-Mobile directly and they were very happy I’m sure to be announcing that Sidekicks were no longer “Temporarily Out Of Stock” and were up for sale on T-Mobile.com again! You can snag a Sidekick LX 2009 for $149.99 or a Sidekick 2008 for $49.99
. And if that’s not cheap enough, you can even get an open box Sidekick 2008 for $34.99
. (All with 2 year contracts of course)

May be old “news” but I kida got tired of checking the catalog every day all for nothing so I quit waiting to hear from someone when it actually is back. So this is news to me. I’m not going to be buying anything to see if it works, but it’s weird that it shows what I’ve purchased only under Applications and Games, all folders under “Downloads” remain empty. Shows data of ringtone usage, but no ringtones in the folder, plus big fat ZERO for data usage of themes and applications. Weird. I wonder when that will start working again?

Oh great check this out! I just LOOKED at the “catalog” and resit my device and guess what? Like SIX of my ringtones were just wiped from my device! The a-holes at t-mo say the catalog is NOT avaliable! Do NOT ACCESS IT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES unless you want your stuff stolen off your phone!
November 17th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
Indeed

November 18th, 2009 at 7:17 pm
Hey marissa, didn’t you read my post (like the 11th one down I think)? I just LOOKED at the catalog and they (T-Mo) STOLE 6 of my ringtones I paid for from me. I’m shocked I didn’t lose any apps or games also. Ether or both could happen. Most of the stories here are helpfull but NOT this one! Should read “WARNING!! DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ACCESS THE CATALOG YET UNLESS YOU WANT TO ALLOW T-MO TO STEAL YOUR RINGTONES, APPS, AND GAMES YOU PURCHASED FROM YOU!!” What too long a headline? To freaking bad, it’s the truth! Plus get this T-Mo says “officialy” the catalog is NOT back and to NOT access it, if you do and apps, games, ringtones disappear “you will get them back when the catalog is restored” since it appears restored now but “officially” isn’t they can just put off “recognising” it’s “officially back” untell it’s convient for them (probably sometime around 2050 give or take a few years). So basicly if you bought ANYTHING EVER and it’s not on your device RIGHT NOW this second, YOU ARE SCREWED! You probably will never be able to retrieve it! If you even look at the catalog, anything they want to steal from you they can (and WILL) unless you keep your device on 24/7/364/forever, because the SECOND you power-down they will send a signal to you device to erasse your stuff they want to make you re-buy at full price! You wnt your time traveler app back? Wait tell the catalog is “officially restored” and after more than a month the ETA on that is still “unknown” (so officially NEVER). Or you can do what I did with 2 of my ringtines buy them back at full fuc*ing price! This was all a scam from the start, I KNEW IT! All to sucker us out of $! Well fuc* Danger-Microsoft, fuc* T-Mobile, and FUC* Sidekicks gently with a chainsaw, I’m done with them all FOREVER! I hope they like the $10 it cost them to lose me a customer forever.
November 19th, 2009 at 10:18 am
Wow, man… they’re “stealing” your apps? :O
I better make a tin foil hat for my Sidekick so they can’t steal mine.
November 19th, 2009 at 5:37 pm
so I will get it back eventually? cuz I have another app that I had before the outage; it was in my downloads but it’s undownloaded. I can reinstall it if I want but I don’t understand why they only took that away from me

Well I don’t understand why they took a ringtone I had since I got my phone (almost 2 years) plus some other newer ones also. The rep I spoke to said the catalog records aren’t accurate with everyone, and if there is even the “slightest doubt” you bought a certain app, game, or ringtone (why there would be a “doubt” I don’t know) T-Mo is decideing in their favor and against you/me/us. Decideing that we must have it illegaly without having paid for it (that’s right, you and I are the “theives” not them!), so they send a command for your device to delete/erase it! Then, latter(??), when the catalog is “officially restored” (whenever that will be) they will be able to access their complete records and find out for sure what you actually bought (they claim). At that time you will get your swiped apps or whatever back at no cost. Or so they say. So you have 2 options a) wait tell they say (which could be tomarrow, next week, next month, next year, who knows) and you *should* get the stuff you paid for back. Maybe. Or b) buy it back now at full price with no refund of for having to buy your own stuff twice! Or lissen to Joe Skeen who apparently thinks where both liars. Hey Joe how many of us “liars” does it take before you are the one who needs the tin-foil hat? Nimrod!
November 20th, 2009 at 3:45 pm
wow. ill think ill just wait it out I guess..I just bought a few apps for my ipod &don’t wana waste more money on stuff I already bought

Update! I called customer care and got credited for the 6 ringtones I lost includeing the 2 I “re-bought” from the catalog that the previous idiot told me I wouldn’t be. They told me they can now confirm who had what so if you lost apps or ringtones and they haven’t came back yet you *should* be able to get credited for them then just “re-purchace” them at this time. I say if you haven’t got them back yet because my daughter lost her Money Clip application (she only told me late last week) and yesterday the “application ready to install” notice came on her Sidekick screen, she accepted it and not only got her Money Clip app back but also with it all the data she had on it which had mysteriously disappeared even before the outage, she also got her bookmarks back same as I have, so we have recovered now ALL our lost data, apps, and ringtines! Now we just got that $50 each from T-Mo for the holidays to spend, so not bad all and all!
