It appears as if Telstra Mobile is also in the process of testing and getting ready to release the Zante down under.
Unconfirmed reports of Telstra trying to push out all remaining stock of Hiptop 3’s to make way for the new device, and a Mid November release date. Also unconfirmed reports of the Hiptop LX making an appearance down under sometime in December have trickled in via email.
Thanks to all who sent this in

These are photographs taken with the Sidekick LX, again by our favorite forum admin.

According to the accompanying blog post for these, these were taken in a complete pitch black room, standing about 4 feet away from the shelf… So it’s a really bright flash now. (Also, who knew he used purex?? :P)

Just a random indoor typical lighting shot. Looks very nice.
Note: These photographs are from poweredbydanger.com, they may or may not be resized as well as compressed some.

eBay user ‘igotsickkicks’ has gotten their hands on a Brown Sidekick LX and has it up for sale. The Brown Sidekick doesn’t look half bad in his photos really.

Busy news day here at Hiptop3… Boy Genius Report has updated their initial look at the Sidekick LX with some new information, that’s somewhat saddening.
“A couple early findings from our Sidekick LX…all ringtones, games, and applications do not transfer over from a Sidekick 3. This mean you’ll need to repurchase everything again. There is a chance this might change as the device is not publicly available, but we doubt it. Also, at this point in time, the Sidekick LX’s Catalog is heavily lacking content…whether developers won’t need to, or haven’t recompiled the apps and games yet, there is only a short few available things to purchase currently in the Application and Games folders.”
They do not say whether it’s displaying that dialog that says something similar to “All your previous purchases will not transfer over to your Sidekick” or if they don’t transfer over simply because they are not yet updated for the Sidekick LX. …More information as it unfolds.

From phonemaverick’s “Downloading games & apps” YouTube’s video comments..
BGR is right… for an item to work on a new device, developers must essentially create a new app. So, they charge users to download it to new devices. This started with sidekick/hiptop3. If you download an app to a sk/ht3 and lose the device, you can get a new sk/ht3 and the apps will automatically redownload for FREE. BUT if you switch device types (e.g. sk/ht3 to lx or slide), you may need to pay for those apps to work on your new device.

Today we’re celebrating the 5th anniversary of the T-Mobile Sidekick. The original Black and White Sidekick went on sale today in Palo Alto California.
Reading the original review of the device from SfGate.com written by Henry Norr, he hit the nail on the head.
“I believe the Sidekick, despite some significant shortcomings, is destined to be a genuine mass-market hit.”

Posted by a well known forum admin is a screenshot of the Sidekick LX’s Music Player with the Mini Player on top.

One can only assume the blurred text in the top Left corner just says Sonic Boom.
