TMobile has also put up the official phone page for the Sidekick 3 here. I’m a little confused that they mention NYC Peach doing crystals, as I’ve heard that it was supposed to be Crystal Icing for the Sk3. There is also no mention of MMS on the page. 🙁

While the rest of the world waits for the release of the Sidekick 3 on June 28th, Paris and Kimberly Stewart already showing off their custom iced Sidekick 3s. We received word from a friend of Crystal Icing scored the contract with T-Mobile instead of NYC Peach. So if you want to get all those crazy crystals on your cat remote, hit them up. They apparently did three devices for the release party. It’s believed that Beyonce got the third one. Check out their site for more of their designs for the Sidekick 3:

We’ve been getting a lot of questions from people about the cost of the Sidekick 3. To answer a large number of these, here it is in plain english:

$299 for a 2-year contract
$349 for a 1-year contract
$399 for T-Mobile To Go (prepaid)
You will get to keep your old sidekick
There is currently no word on any sort of trade-in program like the Sidekick 2 had. We’ll let you know when we hear something.

We were pointed to this auction on ebay where a Sidekick 3 went for $4,050!!! We’re hoping this wasn’t a legit bid. Who would pay $4gs for a phone they can get for a couple hundred dollars in a few days?

Anh Nguyen has a great recap of the Sidekick 3 launch party, complete with photos. Go check it out here. He also has a review of the device up. For those of you that don’t like to read, we’ll go through and give a brief summary when we’re not at work. 🙂

The short of it:
The Sidekick 3 release party was held in Hollywood, CA at Hollywood Palladium, where the theme was “Play, Laugh, Dream, Celebrate.” It sounds like it had a very carnival/playground feel too it, with games, cotton candy, scantily clad women, slides, and swings. The celebrities were all out, with attendees such as: Jose Conseco, Aaron Carter, Taylor Cole, Kristin Bell, Rachel Bilson, Sarah Carter, Christopher Knight, Adrianne Curry, Carlos Mencia, Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus, Shane West, Chris Masterson, Laura Prepon, Haylie and Hillary Duff, Kristin Cavalerri, Serena Williams, Marques Houston, Vida Guerra, J.C. Chasez, Kelly Monaco, Christina Milian, Jadakiss, Jason Mewes, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Misha Barton, Jessica Simpson, Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, Mike Tyson, and some totally random basketball players. DJ AM provided the tunes from the turntables.

There were about 200 people in attendance, and the whole block was closed off. There was also an ice sculpture of the Sidekick 3, and if anyone has good pics of this, we’d love to see them! No idea if there were gift bags and if so what was included in them. If you have a few minutes, definitely go check out Anh’s write-up, as well as photos of all the celebs at his site.

Amidst all this Sidekick 3 news, we were glad to find out that the stolen sidekick we reported on earlier has been returned to the owners. They say they aren’t going to press charges, and that the Sidekick will be sold on ebay, with 1/3 of the money going to a charity for single mothers. More info is available on the site.
