Sidekick Shutdown Letter
Here’s a copy of the letter going out to the current Sidekick users. Sidekick users will get 50% off select Samsung phone from T-Mobile as long as they sign a new 2 year contract. They also point out that the new Sidekick is coming in the Spring.

Reply to Setnakt: I won’t argue with you. There is no need of being agressive so plese, try to respect other opinions.
I’ve called myself to 611 bec I also won a sk and they don’t have a clue regarding promotional rate plans for people who have sk but Marketing Center had several options for me. I’m paid yes, but for taking calls to fix phones!!! I’m not customer care rep, I’m a tech care rep and I’m worried about my customers because after all, I always do my best to fix their phones, rate plans..features…promotions, that is NOT my thing and I shouldn’t care about it but I just wanted to let u know (to all sk customer) that you can get something, especially if you have tenure and a low adjustmen history. Again, this is Microsoft decision.
I really wish everybody can get a good deal, that’s why my previous advise, however, if you call angry demanding things and you yell at reps, then most likely you won’t be given all available options. Why? simply because we don’t deserve to be treated like that. You can ask for a supervisor at marketing center or loyalty if you want but be respectfull.

@SKTC hey what up MF? I stand by all my previous comments. Marketing are a bunch of a-hole parasites. Loyalty Dept has the goods. T-Mo trumps Verizon, Sprint, & AT&T (that one NO DOUBT!) but there are still other options. Demonsoft screwed us all, but T-Mo should have offered us all better. Look *I* got a great offer from T-Mo, but has everyone? I’m not a selfish Republican- I DO care about others than myself!

it’s ok! I won’t hold it against you 🙂 so do you think the G2 is actually a good phone? I’ve heard from people that HTC makes some good devices but to be honest I’ve never really had one…. there’s so many choices to choose from but they’re just too smart for me! The sidekick was perfect for me and I was able to figure it out all on my own. Android just seems too far advance for me but I LOVE! how their operating system is open and not closed as my sidekick is ” was ” since it’ll be gone soon….. I’m also really liking the sidekick 4g because the design is so familiar to the ” Danger ” Sidekick with the exception that it doesn’t swivel lol.

@Night, I was a SK user since the first color model came out but I jumped ship to early and got the g2 and I love it. Battery life is awesome in my own opinion and it has IP-Relay if you are deaf or hard of hearing. I am deaf and I loved my SKLX 09 but battery was not lasting as long as should so instead of buying a new battery on Amazon I got the g2 and I don’t regret my move.
I did find it funny though that the sales rep. did hint to me about a new SK coming but didn’t want to wait and what did ya know a week later I am seeing info on this site about new SK but by Samson. I hope I helped with making a desicion for you?

IMO it’s an amazing phone. Good batt life & features like TBane007 says. Super-fast webspeeds (& it supports Flash). I’m not crazy about the partial (4-row) keypad but I can get use to it. And I like that it’s a metal phone, not cheap plastic. I would love to see that site do a review/walkthrough of the new Sidekick 4G so one could do a comparison of it and the G2. But can’t review a device that’s not out yet…

No offence Anthony but how is that “news”? Still a release date of “sometime this spring” (so apx March 21st-June 21st) and still no pricing or any real news. I have to resit my SK every couple hours, (which kills even MORE of the batt than usual) or I get constant denial of service errors on the web browser! Why am I paying for nothing? I don’t think I can wait even two more weeks with this WEAK ass “service”. I’ll give T-Mumble tell the end of March for details or they can shove that “Sidekick” up their arses & I’m going to a STABLE G2 instead and swearing off crappy useless Sidekicks forever…so tired of this unprofessional BS…
Anyone else getting this sh*t? “The web browser has dropped the connection” (translation: T-Mo/Danger is denying a paying customer service) denial of service BULLSH*T? So over this SIdekick scene..just die already Sidekick, in terriable pain preferably….

This is actually very comical. Lets see MS is shutting down the Danger server May 31st. Maybe there’s a hidden message here. Hello guys. I bought the sidekick for my mom because I read its easy to text with.
She didnt need internet or any of the stuff. Just talk and text.
But apparently without the data plan, this phone cant ring when she gets texts, or show the name of the contact when she gets texts…. Would any one know a work around that without the damn Data plan?, since its now gone?.
